I ROUND TABLE OF THE INNOVA PROJECT AT USFX

The first Round Table of the INNOVA project was successfully held on Thursday, September 14, and was attended by directors of DYCYT research institutes, decent researchers, student researchers, and representatives of the Federation of Professionals of Chuquisaca and representatives of the Central Obrera Departamental, with whom the preliminary proposals put forward by the innova team for the modernization of the USFX investigation management system were analyzed.

The objective of the round table was aimed at socializing the results of the project and identifying in a participatory manner the main challenges to enhance the Management of the Research Service at the San Francisco Xavier University of Chuquisaca.

These are the main conclusions:

  • The strategic orientation of research towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Agenda 2030, within the framework of regional priorities and needs for research and technological development.
  • The need to strengthen links and strategic alliances with public and private institutions, municipalities and communities was also highlighted in order to collect the demands for studies and research to solve the most pressing problems, as well as to contribute with technological development and innovation to raise the levels of productivity and competitiveness of the region's producers (enrichment and diversification of the productive matrix).
  • As strategic research management policies, the need to gradually consolidate a scientific community at USFX with full-time researchers was also prioritized, through the training and hiring of professors at the doctoral level, the continuous training of professors and research students and the establishment of a regimen categorization of the researcher.
  • Regarding structural and instrumental elements of the DICYT, proposals were received to adjust the preliminary proposal, such as simplifying processes to design a modern and agile structure that contributes to raising scientific potential, such as improving services through a Services Charter.
  • It was proposed to rethink DICYT's MISSION taking into account elements that characterize DICYT, as a coordinating unit, integrating with external actors, generator of levels of synergy and articulator of the different levels, processes and research projects, intra, inter and transdisciplinary.
  • Regarding the SWOT, it was proposed to review some factors, there are some contradictions, such as Insufficient resources for research and on the other hand, there are IDH resources available.
  • In relation to the POLICIES worked with the DICYT, these were validated, without observations.
  • Likewise, the need for the Strategic Orientation of research towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Agenda 2030 was addressed, within the framework of regional priorities and needs for research and technological development.
